There's a new reality dog show premiering this month. It's Leader of the Pack a new show starting on April 26th from 8-9 CT on HGTV. Here's a bit from DogChannel.com:
Choosing a dog to fit your family can be exciting and challenging, especially when the competition is fierce.

On HGTV’s new reality show “Leader of the Pack,” eight dogs are let loose in one family’s home, competing to earn a permanent place in the home.

With a variety of breeds and plenty of personalities – both canine and human – there will plenty of excitement to watch. Dogs like Buster the energetic Beagle, Louie the lackadaisical Bichon Frise mix, and Ginger the overbearing hound mix, turn the quiet home into quite a doghouse.

Throughout the show, the eight dogs and family meet with trainers, behavioral specialists, and humane society consultants, and compete in challenges to determine who is top dog. Each week, one dog is eliminated. No tears, though – each dog is found a loving home.

Root for your own underdog when “Leader of The Pack” debuts Sunday, April 26, at 8 p.m. ET on HGTV.

Bet with all that activity in the home the Mum certainly won't be interested in liporexall reviews, she'll have enough exercise to lose any weight she wants!

Have to say, I'll be reserving judgment on this one. Should be interesting!

This show should be cancelled. I am outraged that the dogs are treated in this manner. It is cruel. The family involved should be ashamed.

That show is so Stupid. Its torment to the dogs and the family. The family gets close to the dogs and then the dogs have to leave. Its so Stupid I watched it last night and Adam voted off Ginger(his favorite dog) so that his brother could keep Buster. I was almost in tears. :(

I do not care how they sugar coat this show. I do not care that seven dog will be adopted by other families. The point is for the time these dogs are with these people they think they are at “their” home. They receive love and attention, they get to play and enter act with a family. Then to take them and ship them somewhere else is just too much. AND HGTV is doing this for nothing more than ratings. I find this show DISGUSTING! This is nothing more than a sick game! Being a real estate agent I have always watched HGTV. NEVER AGAIN! I have even removed the channel number from my remote so I do not even flip past it. The person or persons that thought of this show do not deserve the job they have not to mention the salary. I have asked all of my friends to stop watching as well. Never again will I recommend a client to view any HTGV program. A channel that up to this moment had not been sucked in to hype television has now sunk below even the worst of them.

I can't believe this show. What kind os message does HGTV wants transmit to Kids? It is OK to cut deal behind backs as long I get what I want? Don't they see the suffering the poor dogs will go thrugh? Amazing!

GET REAL- these dogs are having a blast- even if they do not get to stay in this home- they are getting exposure and all the while being played with and loved. Then they get a permanent home with someone who saw them on the show- this is a great show. Yes, I cried a little when Ginger was voted off- and the reason the brother voted his own favorite dog off was- Ginger was not the best fit for the whole family. There are a lot of good messages here- these are wonderful people and dogs and they are so much fun to watch. Give it a chance- it's one of the best shows on TV. A

I'm astounded that HGTV is producing such a ruthlessly insensitive program. Dogs whould not have to compete for a home. People may choose to participate in reality TV; but, making voiceless dogs compete for a family is heartless and cruel. What a poor model for children to teach them that we only keep the best and the others can be given away. Sure, people need to know that a dog requires thoughtful choice, but, you don't bring them into your home only to give them away a few weeks later. This program is disgusting.

I missed the last show.....who were the final two dogs, and was a winner chosen? There is no video on the website, and I am dying to know the winning dog. I think it is a good way to teach kids to think not only for themselves, but for other family members as well.

This show is so upsetting. Seeing that little boy's heart broken over Ginger was horrible. His family is guilty of child cruelty, and this show should be stopped. Those poor dogs ... learning to love someone, then uprooted.

I agree that this show is irresponsible. I love HGTV but am revolted at this new "creation". This show is a training ground for nothing more than canine abandonment issues that someone else will have to (or all to often, not) deal with when the animal goes to the next home. If the writers/producers/HGTV really thought this through they would have asked "what is the emotional impact we will have on this creature by doing what we plan to do?" And lastly, if instead of adopting a dog, what would the perspective be if the show substituted two-legged children looking to be adopted? Outrageous, right? It wouldn't be done then.

Hi all, Just found out it was Larry, Guess the Mom got what she wanted. I thought of the two Piper was cuter and they said took to training better. If it were me I would have chosen Piper of those two. But the show is nbot that good an idea as the children have to go through so much. When I was a kid a landlady made us get rid of our pets even though she lived about a quarter of a mile from us and they bothered no one, cats, and the trauma has stayed with me all my life. it broke our hearts. It broke my heart when Ginger keft that little boy and I am glad I did not see the show where the little girl had to give away her Annie. Shame the kids did not have any real say in what happened.

Every dog competes for a home, it just isn't so public. Breed dogs are chosen for their characteristics, and shelter dogs... well if you have never been down that row--you wouldn't have any idea about the level of competition those dogs go through. After all, the loser doesn't get another home, but a final walk.

the show is good and the dogs are getting a home. they are dogs from the POUND. maybe u don't know but after a while if a dog isn't adopted from the pound its put to sleep *death* so after a dog is voted off the send the dogs to good home are a family who needs a dog for a good purpose. u ppl think the dogs are being tormented but if u were in it and found out u were helping 7 dogs get homes and keeping one u would know how great it feels. so u all should think twice because the dogs are being taken away but they are in the end usually happy.

I volunteer at an animal shelter and I cannot tell you the number of dogs who are adopted and returned days or weeks later because of various "conflcits" with the people who adopt them. While sad that the kids had to give up their own favorites, at least this family had the chance to see which dog fit in with their lifestyle. I am a foster home for shelter animals and of course it's sad to see them go, but, just like on the show, you know they are going to loving, caring homes. The truly disgusting thing is the number of unwanted animals that are euthanized every day in this country because irresponsible people don't have their pets spayed or neutered.
