Homeless people can sometimes own homeless pets.
In Berlin, a company has started a soup kitchen for dogs, providing free meals for the pooches of the homeless or unemployed.
The director, Claudia Hollm, has heard from critics who say she should be providing for people rather than dogs. But she told Reuters, "Making sure dogs don't go hungry is just as important as making sure that people don't starve."
It's not just dogs who are being served. One woman using the service owns four cats, a rabbit and some guinea pigs in addition to two dogs.
