While we were traveling, I could not feed Cici raw dog food. For a time when we were camping up in Mendocino, I gave her raw scraps from the kind folks at the Harvest Market but now that were not traveling, well, we went away last weekend, but I have slowly been introducing raw food to her again. Cici LOVES it. She gets really excited and drooling for her food.

Our Great Dane cannot get enough tug-of-war time! His humans, and the toys, always wear out long before Shakespeare is ready to take a break so, when I spotted the Invincible Chains at PetSmart, I just had to give them a try. Natures Variety has expanded its voluntary recall ofall Chicken Formula and Organic Chicken Formula products with a Best If Used By date on or before 2/5/11.
Natures Variety has received new test results from an outside facility that indicate that its Chicken Formula Raw Frozen Diet, issued under theBest If Used By dates of 10/29/10 and 11/9/10, may be contaminated with Salmonella.

Possible salmonella contamination has led to a recall of Natures Variety frozen chicken diet for dogs and cats, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The FDA said the Lincoln, Neb., company initiated a voluntary recall of its chicken formula raw frozen diet. The company said the recalled product is limited to:

I started Toby on a raw food diet. I always thought it was too much work but it is actually not. There are pre-packaged frozen raw food with all the essential ingredients for a balance diet.
