Michael Vick bares a bit of himself literally and figuratively in the new (September, 2011) issue of GQ, now available at a newstand near you.
In an article written by Will Leitch, Vick makes some revealing comments that seem to come from a little deeper place than his public relations team (it consists of seven members, according to the article) normally allows.
But most of them like the tired old argument that dogfighting is part of black culture and thus OK seem aimed at rationalizing,...

Controversy sells.
It also brings out dozens of protestors if you happen to be a superstar athlete and admitted dog killer charging upward of $120 for autographs.
So was the scene for Michael Vick on Sunday when hundreds gathered in Butler, New Jersey to either lambaste the quarterback for running a dog-fighting ring or praise him for leading the Philadelphia Eagles to the NFL playoffs.

Ive never liked the open letter. Its a cheapgimmick that allows the writer to pretend to be writing to someone when youre really taking aim at them. Its a feeble attempt toget the attention of someone who neither knows who you are, nor cares what you have to say. It lets you, the writer, ride on their celebrity while youmake a point, ostensibly to them, but really to the world. Open letters are highly presumptuous, and a little rude.
Nevertheless, Dear Michael Vick
I see an opportunity for you....

Richard Hunter, the adoptive parent of one of Michael Vicks dogs, confronted the Eagles quarterback in Dallas after a ceremony Saturday in which Vick received the key to the city and asked him if he wanted an opportunity to see one of his former dogs.
Instead of getting an answer, Hunter, a local radio personality who we met this summer in our Travels with Ace, got pushed out of the way by Vicks entourage. He put together this video of the event afterwards.
