  • In the new GQ, Michael Vick bares … some

    from ohmidog!

on Friday August 19th, 2011 at 11:22 AM

Michael Vick bares a bit of himself literally and figuratively in the new (September, 2011) issue of GQ, now available at a newstand near you.

In an article written by Will Leitch, Vick makes some revealing comments that seem to come from a little deeper place than his public relations team (it consists of seven members, according to the article) normally allows.

But most of them like the tired old argument that dogfighting is part of black culture and thus OK seem aimed at rationalizing,...

  • Padding Michael Vick, and his bank account

    from ohmidog!

on Sunday April 17th, 2011 at 08:11 PM

Michael Vicks first post-prison endorsement contract with a company called Unequal Technologies appears to already be paying dividends, both for the quarterback and the company.

Vick, in exchange for a piece of the company, is now shilling for Unequal, whichmakes protective padding for athletes, designed to help prevent injuries among those who take part incontact sports dogfighting, of course, not included.

For Vick, who once raked in $7 million a year in endorsements, the contract puts him...

  • The Lost Dogs Book Review

    from Too Kool Doggies

on Wednesday January 12th, 2011 at 01:41 AM

The Lost Dogs: Michael Vick's Dogs and Their Tale of Rescue and Redemption was a book I ordered from Amazon right when it came out. However, due to the demands of my classes, I didn't get a chance to read it until I was on vacation. It also didn't help that the first chapter was very graphic. I wouldn't change a thing though because the grittiness of that chapter was very realistic. That said, this book gives an clear picture of the Michael Vick dogfighting case. It is divided into three...

  • Michael Vick’s former house sits empty

    from ohmidog!

on Tuesday August 24th, 2010 at 08:13 PM

Im not sure why I wanted to visit 1915 Moonlight Road maybe for the same reason people visit Nazi death camps, Ground Zero and other scenes of slaughter.

Maybe its in part to pay respects to those who died and suffered, in part to remind ourselves of how evil man can be that whole business about keeping history fresh enough in our minds that we dont allow the mistakes of the past to be repeated.

Maybe (last maybe, I promise) thats also why you still find Michael Vick stories on ohmidog! and...

  • What the Vick dogs taught humans

    from ohmidog!

on Saturday August 14th, 2010 at 07:45 PM

In 2007, it was one of the mostsickening, disheartening stories of the year NFL quarterback Michael Vicks arrest and imprisonment on dogfighting charges. Revelations of what transpired at Bad Newz Kennels showed just how cruel some humans can be.

By 2009, though, the story ofVicks dogs had become one of the most heartening of the decade. What made the difference? Mainly, the dogs the pit bulls. For despite what theyd been put through, despite being abused, trained as killers or used as bait,...
