Should You Consider Adopting a Cat from a Pet Shelter?
on Tuesday May 7th, 2013 at 03:00 PM
Cats are certainly at the very top of the pet popularity charts and it seems that this trend isnt going to change in the near future. Pet Insurance Claim of the Week: Chihuahua Ate 38 Cotton Swabs
on Monday May 6th, 2013 at 03:00 PM
This weeks featured pet insurance claim is about a small 7-pound long-haired Chihuahua who swallowed 38 cotton swabs. You read that correctly 38!
I am just as baffled as you are as to how that many cotton swabs could fit inside such a tiny dog, but that is the exact reason that he was rushed to the veterinary clinic and needed surgery to remove them. This little guy spent the night at the clinic for recovery and monitoring.
We are hoping to hear from the pet owner soon to update with his...

Id like to thank everyone at Trupanion for helping my Maltese and I during her illness. She was diagnosed 3 weeks ago with acute kidney failure and unfortunately passed away today. The folks at Trupanion were so helpful and thoughtful during the claims process. Over $2300 was paid out in an attempt to save her life. Knowing that I was able to try every means possible to keep my best friend alive is truly helping with the healing process. Had it not been for Trupanion, I would have spent the...

Pet Insurance Claim of the Week: Dog Ate Two Socks
on Monday April 29th, 2013 at 03:00 PM
Titan the 2-year-old Greater Swiss Mountain Dog has curious tendencies which recently got him into some trouble. Perhaps he took the phrase foot in mouth a little too seriously because he ended up swallowing two socks!
Titan was rushed to his veterinary clinic where they used an ultrasound machine to examine his abdomen. The socks were identified and Titan was to undergo surgery to remove them. In foreign body ingestion situations like this, surgery is often necessary due to the size of the...
