Square_140_alpacasIt's been a while! Last post - summer was starting. Aaaaand fast forward to today - summer almost over! Gahhhh!!! So here are the highlights of my summer, in pictures!!!!! I met some alpacas! Fossey got her first bath! We missed hockey soooo much by May (one month after the season ended), we played spring hockey with OUR TROPHY BECAUSE WE WON THE LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!! Yay North Storage Grey Matter!!!! :) I was happy my mom came for a visit! The dogs played their ASSES off. Remember...

George is hilarious, at 14.5 yrs, she is still scavenging things like this out of the bush! Walked outside to see her gnawing away on this gem and guarding it from the crazy pups! Have no idea where it came from but someone is missing a lower leg out there... Here's ol one-eyed Howler! He still has a habit for being a klutz! He managed to run full-on into my shin last week (I still have a dent from it!) and then managed to injure his front leg on a walk yesterday and came to me screaming...

Especially to these two special moms: My wonderful, awesome, supportive, beautiful mama! Love you! And this gal: The other supremely 'special' mother around here, PB! Your puppies still adore you! The good ol' days when they were smaller, quieter and calmer! Seems like SO long ago! Happy Mother's Day to all the other wonderful mums out there!

Howler has a new pastime, he had become quite adept at stealing slippers and gathering them into a little pile. For what? Who knows! He doesn't chew them, he just very quietly steals them from right under my nose and makes little piles (I have a lot of slippers!) all over the cabin. Here is PB (sorry there's been a lack of this little tornado on the blog!) with one of the piles! Doesn't she look proud? Ok, maybe not, she looks confused, but that's normal for her, haha! And here is fossey...

Heres a couple pics from our run today, trails are still pretty good! A few dirt patches here and there... Selfie time! Baaaaaallllll time! Guess who's the happiest dog in the yard? PB!!! Fossey is pretty interested too, but knows not to get in the way of momma and her precious ball time! Our little creek is getting a bit wet as you can see by the footprints! Even though this winter has been super fun and busy, I'm ready for summer! :)

Square_140_march20coverHeyyyyyy we're aliiiiive! Wow, it's been awhile since I've posted here. Time flies, winter flies when you're having fun. Or just trying to stay warm! February was a bit chilly, March has been lovely, sunny warm days but chilly (-20ish nights), brrr! But! The trails are awesome! I recently wrote a little article for What's Up Yukon on retired Quest dogs, check it out here! In dog yard news, sad month in Feb, my little right-hand girl, Gracie passed away. She fought a valiant fight but the ol'...
  • More pup training

IWhat a blast we've been having lately! The temps are unseasonably warm, our trails have melted, sunk and iced over, but they're still doable. Thanks goodness for the 47,000 ft of snow from earlier in the season. The youngsters are impressing me, we did their longest run ever last weekend, almost 20 miles! And they didn't ever seem to tire. We trucked 2 teams (I borrowed 2 of Cindy's dogs to have an 8-dog team) and a friend also, joined us with her 6-dog team. The start! Annnnnnnd we're off!...
  • Pup skijor with Uncle Rico

Loaded up the crazies and took 'em to town on Sunday! It was good experience for them, we met up with Uncle Rico (on the right here, with Fossey and Howler). This crew decided they could only chase and not lead. That was Uncle Rico's job I guess. Yes! We can sure chase!!! Here we are side-by-side Rico and his mama (on her fancy new kicksled!) Get himmmmmm!!!! But my superstars of the day were Louis and Maggie! They rocked the trail, didn't care if they had to run in front, they just went....
